My good friend Dawson lives and works in Shanghai, so I headed out to visit him last semester, delighting in us living on the same continent for the first time in years. I arrived during the week and spent time touring around the city while he worked during the day.
Shanghai is a city of contrasts. The architectural style varies greatly throughout the city, sometimes even from street to street. The city has a lot to offer and was a nice break from the norm for me. With an active international population, there are many of the "comforts" of home including predominate cuisine options from all over the world. We partook of many especially Indian, Greek, Mexican and American. Below are some photos from the trip.

It rained most of the first day or so of my trip. But that didn't stop us from exploring the city.
The sun delightfully came out later in the week/weekend. This is near the Yuyuan Garden in Anren Jie..this area offers lots of great shopping for souvenirs.

We took the Maglev back to the airport. It's the world's fastest train based on a magnetic levitation system. It went about 250 mph during our 10 minute trip. Amazing!
